ParishClerk@easthagbourne.net ANNUAL VILLAGE TIDY UP At this time of the year nature is running on full steam with the result that plants and vegetation are growing rapidly, especially our hedges. There are several places in the Village where hedges adjacent to roads or footpaths are in need of cutting back to avoid blocking visibility or impeding traffic. Would everyone please do their bit and trim up hedges under their control. CHILDRENS’ PLAY AREA IN THE RECREATION GROUND. The sub-committee is very pleased to announce that the Scheme has been awarded a substantial grant by TOE. This means that nearly two-thirds of the financial target has been achieved. The funding application submitted to SODC is due to be considered this coming July. Many fingers are crossed! NEW FACILITIES IN THE RECREATION GROUND The revised Grant Applications for the Multi-Use Games Areas (MUGAs) are proceeding through the Fund Awarders’ procedures. We are confident that building should at last be able to be started around the end of the year. Completion of the MUGAs will bring a welcome re-activation of the Tennis Club along with other games users. Based upon advance information from village surveys netball should be the first priority. As a taster we should like to enter a village team in a fun netball competition being held in Abingdon on 19th July for ladies over 18. We know from the surveys that there are some enthusiastic netball players out there so, if you would like to play, please contact the Parish Clerk. More details in due course. DOG FOULING We have recently organized some more disposal bins around the village walkways. We have also arranged for more disposal bags to be available for your use from the village Shop. Please continue to clean up after your dogs and keep the village clean so that it can be enjoyed by us all. | |
