EAST HAGBOURNE PLAYGROUND

Construction has proceeded apace in the Recreation Ground off Great Mead thanks to the good weather. Funding has been obtained from SODC & TOE to supplement funds from EHPC and the Monica Lawson Memorial Fund. Watch out for details of the grand opening in October. Many, many thanks must go to Rob Rendell and the team for their efforts in bringing this project to a successful conclusion.

LATEST FLOOD NEWS

O.C.C. Highways Department have carried out nearly 2 weeks of work on the road drains in East Hagbourne, using an internal camera to inspect the drains and clearing out obstructions by flushing through. Their work was concentrated on the areas most susceptible to flooding, i.e Main Road, Blewbury Road and the village end of New Road. Some problems regarding the routing of the pipes is still under investigation.
S.O.D.C. contractors have cut and cleared vegetation from the lower stream channel downstream of Tadley. A small village working party has checked the lengths of both channels and cleared some blockages caused by fallen branches and weeds growing in the stream. The stream now looks in good shape to handle the next rains, but ongoing attention will be needed to prevent vegetation and debris from building up.

PARISH PLAN UPDATE

The completed questionnaires have been returned from the data processors and the results are now being reviewed and considered. A report for EHPC is in the course of preparation and, once received, news can be disseminated back to the Village and its' Clubs and Organisations.
