DISTRICT COUNCILLOR GRANT SCHEME

The councillor grant scheme is now open again, where every councillor has £5,000 to help fund projects in their ward.
South Oxfordshire District Council are trying to encourage applications for projects that will contribute to their new corporate plan priorities, in particular to protect and restore our natural world; action on the climate emergency and improved economic and community well-being. The funding is ideal for projects which are relatively low in costs and can complete within a year.
To make an application, you should first get in touch with either of our District Councillors to discuss your project:
Then submit an online application via the SODC website, which also has more information about the grants and guidance notes for making an application. https://www.southoxon.gov.uk/south-oxfordshire-district-council/community-support/grants/councillor-community-grants/
The scheme will close at noon on Friday 5 February 2021.

Bus Timetable change – Jan 2020

Image of a green and white bus

There are big changes to the 94 bus schedule starting in January (exact date not yet known).

The bus will no longer do the circular route, but after EH will go to Blewbury then Upton, WH (Horse & Harrow) and then continue to Chilton and Harwell campus, following the same route back.

Good news is that there will be a Saturday service. The weekday school buses will continue. Details will be in the December parish magazine and the timetable here.

Remembrance gathering

Memorial cross

Over 40 people gathered at the village war memorial for an Act of Remembrance this morning, led by Fr Jason, attended by over 40 people all following Covid guidelines. It was moving to hear Fr Jason read out the names of members of the Forces from The Hagbournes who lost their lives during the 1st and 2nd World Wars. Richard Allen and Iain Duff laid wreaths at Lower Cross in their memory.
