The Pavilion and Recreation Ground are owned by East Hagbourne Parish Council and managed by the East Hagbourne Sport & Recreation Committee for the general benefit of the community. 

Use of the Recreation Ground

The Recreation Ground is open to individual members of the public for leisure and recreation at all reasonable times during daylight hours subject to any organised activities on the playing field.

Covid-19:

Although Government restrictions have been eased, Covid is still with us and we encourage all users to take precautions: mantain safe distance, sanitise surfaces, ventilate the room.

We welcome both regular and occasional bookings.

Please note that noise must be moderated at all times to avoid nuisance to our neighbours.

For this reason, adult parties are not accepted, however we will consider children’s parties and family gatherings at our discretion.

East Hagbourne Pavilion location:

The Recreation Ground, Great Mead, East Hagbourne, OX11 9BN (off New Road, opposite the village Shop and Post Office).

Facilities

The Recreation Ground has been in the care of the Parish Council since 1922. It accomodates a well equipped children’s play area which was opened in October 2009 and a football pitch which is used by local teams.

Our new Pavilion opened was officially opened by Ed Vaizey, MP in January 2016 and offers high quality accomodation for sports and community activities.

The Community Room

The Community Room provides a comfortable spacious venue for a range of community activities. The dimensions of the room are 9.0 metres x 6.8 metres [61 square metres], with a ceiling height of 2.53 metres. There are tables and chairs to accomodate up to 60 people and a kitchen. The room is laid with a durable carpet.

Sports Changing Rooms

There are high quality changing rooms and showers for team sports, meeting Sport England guidelines, with separate facilities for home and away teams and for officials.

These are completely separate from the Community Room facilities with their own entrance.

Car Parking

A 24 space car park is available for booked events.
