Speedwatch Forum

As all residents of East Hagbourne are aware, the amount of traffic through our village has increased dramatically over the past 12 months or more. New Housing in the area, poor traffic infra structure in neighbouring towns and villages and Hagbourne becoming a ‘rat run’ have all contributed to our roads becoming increasingly busy. This has led to increased and inappropriate traffic speeds, and the inherent dangers these bring to residents.

With the support of East Hagbourne Parish Council(EHPC) and Thames Valley Police(TVP) it is proposed to set up a village speed-watch forum which will enable residents to effectively monitor traffic speeds and, where necessary, report excessive speeding by motorists to the appropriate authorities. To this end, I am looking for volunteers to assist me so that together we can make East Hagbourne a safer community. I am intending to hold a meeting mid September and then, all being well , starting the speed-watch campaign in October/November. If you are interested in assisting, please contact me on 07595 747644 or e-mail me on rogerdavidb@outlook.com .
