Wildlife activies on the Railway Embankment
Sustrans has arranged a number of interesting wildlife activities over the Summer :
Friday 29th and Saturday 30th June Moth, Bat and Butterfly event:
– Join us trapping moths and listening to bats on Friday 29th from 9pm until late (starts at Chapel furlong, Upton)
– or the following morning to see what we found and look for butterflies (starts end of Lake Road, East Hagbourne)
Wednesday evenings between 20th June and 18th July:
– evening butterfly walks (7-9pm) meeting at Hagbourne Village Hall in East Hagbourne.
Hedgehog survey
– we are looking for volunteers to help run a hedgehog survey on the Sustrans route. This involves putting our camera traps and baited footprint collecting tunnels.
If we get sufficient volunteers the survey will run for 10 days from 23rd July to 3rd August. Volunteering would involve a training session then committing to walking the route to replenish the bait and paper at least two evenings during the survey period.
