Thank you to everyone who turned out to help litter pickers today (Sat 28th). More folk arrived after this pic was taken, so we actually had 22 helpers in total – 1 chap came from Wallingford with his daughter! A special thank you Crispin Topping, who litter picks every day – the lack of litter this year was remarkable!!

BBC Radio Oxford Community Appeals
There is a new feature launching soon for local people who might like to make an appeal to BBC Radio Oxford listeners.
It’s called ‘Shout Out Oxfordshire’ and will give community groups, clubs, charities, etc. the chance to make a 45 second appeal to our listeners, free of charge, which will be repeated every day for at least a week, and go on the BBC Radio Oxford iPlayer for a month. It could be used to ask for more members or volunteers, donations of items, skills or time, more people to use a community service, or something else, but not money.
If you would like more details of how to take part, please email me with some basic info about the appeal (including any deadline), or if you know someone else who might like to have a go, please forward this email on to them.
Email: shoutoutoxfordshire@bbc.co.uk
All the best.
Mark Watson,
Broadcast Journalist, Producer & Music Manager.

The PopUp Business School will be popping up at The Orchard Shopping Centre next month and are inviting aspiring entrepreneurs to attend the sessions to learn how to start or grown their own business.
The school is working in partnership with and are co-funded by Hammerson Plc (owners of the shopping centre), Soha Housing, South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse District Councils and The European Social Fund.
The week-long, free workshop, which starts on Monday 19 March at The Orchard Shopping Centre, will teach local residents from around the South Oxfordshire area everything they need to know from; how to start a business without any money, how to generate sales from social media to making a website without any technical skills.
Soha’s Chief Exec Richard Peacock said, “I’m really proud that Soha is a community based social business. This is a great step forward for our Launchpad project, which has already supported many local people to gain valuable experience and skills.”
Councillor John Cotton, Leader of South Oxfordshire District Council, said, “We are enthusiastic partners in this innovative project. The PopUp school is part of our ongoing commitment to help new and existing businesses in and round Didcot Garden Town and Science Vale to grow and succeed.”
Since 2011, PopUp Business School has been travelling around the United Kingdom teaching aspiring entrepreneurs how to start their own businesses. However, unlike other enterprise support companies their advice is the polar opposite of the status quo. They don’t believe in business plans, financial projections or loans. Instead they get their stu-dents starting off with sales and proving a demand in their businesses first.
To sign up to the free workshop and to find out more information, you can visit www.popupbusinessschool.co.uk

They can find out all the information they need on South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse district councils websites www.southoxon.gov.uk/christmaswaste and www.whitehorsedc.gov.uk/christmaswaste.
Garden waste collections will be suspended over the Christmas period, while crews concentrate on collecting all the extra waste from Christmas. Garden waste customers will receive an extra collection in the spring to make up for this.
Householders can also find out what to do with all their Christmas waste on the website, along with details of how to recycle their real Christmas trees.
Following the recent snowfall in the districts, the councils would also like to remind residents that in the event of adverse weather, like snow or ice, it may not be possible for collection crews to make all their scheduled collections. If the districts are affected by bad weather, all the latest information about bin collections will be posted on the councils’:
Details will also be available on the websites.
Cllr Tony Harbour, cabinet member for waste and recycling at South Oxfordshire District Council, said:
“As we approach the busiest time of year for our waste crews, we’d like to thank all of our residents in advance for their co-operation and for their efforts in recycling. The vast majority of waste over Christmas can be recycled, so we hope everyone will do their very best to recycle everything they can, including all their food waste.”
Cllr Charlotte Dickson, cabinet member for waste and recycling at Vale of White Horse District Council, said:
“As a reminder to our residents, you’re able to put out extra waste for recycling over Christmas, so please check out the information on our website to see what to do with it. We’re extremely grateful to everyone for helping our council to recycle as much as we do. Hopefully we won’t get any more disruptive weather, but if we do we’d appreciate your patience. Please look online for all the latest updates if this happens.”
