In celebration of British Pie Week (yes, really!) the Village Shop is delighted to be able to announce that we will now be stocking a range of delicious pies to suit every taste.

Unfortunately we had a problem with Q Gardens providing us with a regular supply of their steak pies and therefore, for the last few months, we have been trying to source a good quality pie from an alternative local producer.  Finally, we have come up with a great product for you to try!

The pies are provided by Blackwoods, an Oxfordshire company based in Henley, which specialises in supplying delicatessens, farm shops and community shops.  The pies are accredited by the British Retail Consortium and have a great range of flavours.

Individual pies will be available in the following flavours priced at £2.15:

• steak and ale
• chicken and ham
• lamb and rosemary

For a meat-free, vegetarian option there are the following options, priced at just £2.00:

•  cheddar, Stilton and onion
• sweet potato, spinach and goats cheese

There will also be a large family steak pie priced at £5.20 and a large chicken and ham pie priced at £4.45.

We will be officially launching our pies with our very own Hagbourne Pie Week soon but the first delivery of new pies will arrive this week (7th March)  – please do pop in and pick one up to try – we think they taste great and offer excellent value!
