New trees for East Hagbourne
Twenty new native trees are planned to the east of the village alongside footpaths 16 & 17 which over time will provide a lasting asset and focal point for the village, as well as providing valuable wildlife habitat.
The planting, which will be carried out by volunteers was approved by East Hagbourne Parish Council at its meeting on 8th June.
We will be preparing the ground over the next couple of months ready to plant small bare-root native trees in November – four oaks and the balance largely birch.
We welcome your involvement and would appreciate help with our first working party on Saturday 21st September 10.00-12.30 when we will prepare the ground at each planting spot.
