It seems 12 months has zoomed past faster than Santa’s sleigh itself and here we are again asking you to dust off your tinsel and join us in celebrating Christmas in the best way possible – by sponsoring a 4’ Norwegian Spruce Christmas tree at our annual festival held in the church in Hagbourne.
We are into our eighth year of this marvellous, festive event that raises money for good causes whilst also encouraging some good natured competition to win the now coveted Christmas Tree Trophy – can anyone stop the supreme KnitWits’ winning streak?!
This year we are raising money for St Andrew’s Church and “Be Free YC” – a local charity that supports young carers giving them a chance to be children, relax and make friends away from the pressures of their daily caring roles.
For anyone reading this who is new to the Festival, we invite local businesses, clubs, families and community groups to sponsor a 4’ live Norwegian Spruce tree for just £25. There are 30 available in all and we ask you to decorate your tree in either traditional fashion, to reflect your business interests or you could chose to decorate in accordance with this year’s optional theme of ‘Bible Stories’. Suggestions include Noah’s Ark, the Creation, Jonah & the Whale, Joseph & his Dreamcoat, or, of course, the Nativity itself.
The festival is then open daily for visitors to come and and enjoy the entertainment, delicious home made refreshments and vote for their favourite tree.
It’s a wonderful opportunity for your business or group to publicise itself on a very local level whilst also supporting great causes. A win, win! Many businesses in the past have enjoyed new customers as a result of their involvement in the festival.
